Payment-related impact of sanctions on Clients in Eastern Europe
Extensive international sanctions are now in place in response to Putin’s invasion of Ukraine. The events of recent weeks have impacted our ability to operate and process payments in a number of regions, and Design Hunt has suspended services for customers based in the following areas:

Russia
Belarus
The disputed Donetsk People’s Republic (DNR) and Luhansk People’s Republic (LNR) regions of Ukraine
If you are accessing Design Hunt from one of the named areas above, your account will be affected. Please read the following FAQs, and feel free to reach out to our team at [email protected] if you have any unanswered questions.
I’m a Client in one of the affected areas:
What will happen to my account?
Your account – including any contests or projects – will be inaccessible until the sanctions have been lifted.

Can I open a new account?
After March 23, 2022 you will be unable to open an account from any of the regions listed above.

Can I make a purchase?
No, you will be unable to access the site from the areas impacted by these restrictions.

Can I wrap up a Contest or Project that I’ve already started?
You will be unable to access the site, but if you need assistance with accessing any existing files please contact [email protected] for help.

I’m a Client outside of the affected areas, but I'm working with a Designer in Ukraine:
Can I continue to work with a designer in Ukraine?
If they personally are able to continue working and are available, very likely, yes.

The only region of Ukraine which is impacted by sanctions is a tiny subset of our designer community.

I awarded or hired a designer whose account was blocked due to sanctions, but the work is incomplete. What can I do?

I’m worried about a designer in Ukraine who I work with - what can I do?
This is understandably a very difficult time for people who call Ukraine home. While communication may be difficult for some at this time, message the designer you are working with to check in on them and see what their situation is. If you feel uncomfortable doing this or would like one of our team to reach out on your behalf, please email [email protected] and we would be happy to help.

I’m a Client outside of the affected areas, but I'm working with a Designer in Russia:
Can I continue to work with them?
Unfortunately you will not be able to continue working with designers while they are located in Russia.

If your Designer lets you know they are unable to work with you because of payout restrictions, please contact us at [email protected] and we will help you find an alternative solution.

I awarded or hired a designer in Russia who is unable to complete their work due to sanctions. What can I do?
Please contact us and we’d be happy to help you with a custom solution.

If PayPal and other payment providers aren’t working, should I try to find another way to pay designers?
We do not advise that you attempt to provide payment outside of Design Hunt as we cannot provide support outside of the platform.
